Comfort Food,
All Day Breakfast Specials
We’ve all been there: a night spent jumping around at a gig in de Zwarte Ruiter, flirting on the dance floor at Zèta, or just hanging out on the Grote Markt terrace until the early hours. There’s no way you’re getting up at 8 AM. That’s why we have All Day Breakfast Specials at de Hoender!
From our legendary Breakfast Plate and Chicken ‘n Waffles to our loaded toasties: we’ve got exactly what you need. And the best part? Order a cup of filter coffee, and the refills are on us. All day long!

Lunch & diner
Holy moly! When you say Hoender, you say food, food & even more food. Comfort food until you drop. Whether you’re craving a smash burger or tacos, our menu is guaranteed to give you some serious choice stress.
And if a hot dog or Korean fried chicken isn’t enough?
MAKE IT A MEAL!
You’ll get fries and a homemade lemonade on the side!

Beer Whisk(e)y & more!
The long wooden bar is our craft beer temple. We have 10 beers on tap (including 2 rotating taps) and about 25 bottled beers. Besides our “go-to” shelf with the most surprising whiskies from all over the world, we serve a small but brave selection of cocktails. Naturally, our non-alcoholic list of thirst-quenchers is also extensive! Cheers!

Game on
What’s better than sitting with your group of friends at a table full of comfort food and beer, watching your favorite football team? Or seeing Max Verstappen win? But the game fun goes beyond the screens! Every month, we host a Pub Quiz and organize board game nights… who says you can’t always roll a six? Check our agenda quickly!
